Can activities be booked locally?

Yes, our resort teams will hold a welcome meeting either on the day of arrival or the following morning. They will give you information about each activity and you will be able to sign up for those you wish to take part in. Pre-booked activity times and venues will be confirmed at this time.

Can I change my free activity?

Yes, the value of your free activity can be used towards another activity. Please refer to resort pages for exact details.

Is equipment provided?

Most of our activities are run by specialist, local suppliers. They provide all equipment such as wetsuits, climbing gear, helmets etc. For water-based sports you will need a swimsuit (to wear under your wetsuit) and, for canyoning, an old pair of trainers is advisable.

Do you have SPD pedals for mountain bikes?

All of our bikes have platform (flat) pedals. We do have a limited stock of SPD pedals but recommend bringing shoes and pedals with you if you require them. Our resort mechanics will be more than happy to fit these for you.

Do I need padded cycling shorts?

No, they are not essential but in the interests of comfort we do recommend bringing them if you intend to take part in mountain biking.

Can mountain bikes be taken up on ski lifts?

In many resorts, mountain bikes can be taken on ski lifts. During off-peak season some lifts close or stop allowing mountain bikes to be carried. For further advice please contact

Are lift passes included in the cost of the holiday?

No, lift passes are not included, but can be purchased locally. Some activities (such as paragliding) require lift passes to be purchased on top of the activity price.

Do I need special insurance to take part in activities?

The insurance offered by Crystal Active covers all activities in our programme. If you choose alternative insurance you will need to check the details of that policy. If you choose to take part in activities not offered by Crystal Active but booked with local suppliers, you will need to check the details of your policy.

Can I bring my own mountain bike?

Please contact our reservations team if you wish to take a mountain bike on your flight. The reservation team will check to see if this is possible and will confirm what the cost of carriage will be - this is generally in the region of £30. Please notify us at least 2 weeks prior to departure if you wish to bring a bike with you so that we can make arrangements to transport it from the airport to your accommodation upon your arrival.

Can I guarantee a child's bike in resort?

Our resort teams have a selection of children's bikes which are free during your stay. Unfortunately, there may occasionally be times when a children's bike is not available, but if this occurs we will do our best to ensure you are top of the list on the next day.

Any advice on what to pack?

The weather in the mountains can be changeable. A waterproof coat together with a fleece or jumper are all advisable to take with you. The sun can be extremely hot in the mountains during the summer and therefore good sun cream is essential.
